My youngest daughter, Ellie, has been bitten by the digi bug lately. A few times a week she has been creating layouts for herself using templates and adding papers and elements, resizing, adding shadows and using control-Z to get rid of things she doesn’t like.

Today she created a new layout using some of the wonderful things she bought for herself using her challenge winnings at Jessica Sprague.

My only helping was with the typing and showing her how to use the “align” to line up the 2-0-1-1.

As soon as we were done with that Ellie announced that she wanted to make her own paper.  So using a few commercial use items in my stash, I showed her how to add layers, using blending modes and change the opacity. She really liked the opacity slider. After she made a few papers she told me she wanted to give them away to my friends on the blog. So here is Ellie’s first try at designing papers (with a little help from Mom):

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a freebie so I thought you all deserved one in honor of  Father’s Day here in the U.S. My Dad is off fishing in Canada and I am spending time with my family at the cabin.

Just for you: Daddy’s Shoes kit (available for one week only!)

(Sorry this freebie has expired!)

Ellie’s big brother, Brandon, gave her a huge jar of glow in the dark stars as part of her Christmas present. She decided that she should use them to make constellations next to her bed. Curious to see what she’d come up with I left the design entirely up to her. My only job was to put the sticky things on the back of each star.

The constellations really do glow! They are best seen when you unplug the nightlight to make the room totally dark. It’s added a bit of fun at tuck in time.

Now available at Faith Sisters

And since it’s CYBER-MONDAY it is half off until tomorrow!

My “Art of Digital Design” certification arrived yesterday:

Thanks Jessica and Carina!

My first ever blog hop and I’m so excited to be participating with my friends from Ten designers are giving away free mini-kits starting this Thursday with chances to win even more kits! Hope you’ll come back Thursday to check it out. I promise it will be worth your while.

Yesterday was October 10th, 2010 or 10-10-10. A fellow digi-scrapper and designer, Anna Aspnes,  offered this free template on her blog.

It inspired me to document my day:

My 10 words and 10 stories:

Holy. I am humbled by the presence and provision of my holy Lord.

Attitude. I choose to have an attitude of gratefulness in the blessings I’ve been given.

Creativity. I love documenting my life through digi-scrapping and blogging.

Leaves. My favorite days are those like today: fall colors all around,  the slight crispness to the air and sunshine.

Sounds. Today I stopped to listen to the sounds of nature around me, including this woodpecker overhead.

Laughter. Laughter, especially from those I love, is contagious.

Footsteps. My girl, playing in the dirt, following in my footsteps pretending to be a soil engineer like Mommy.

Clean. All that dirt (excuse me, soil) had to come off.

Play. Some of Ellie’s favorite playthings are her Polly dolls.

Tradition. Learning how to make Grandma’s applesauce.”

The papers and elements are mostly from a new kit I have coming out “i heart pictures” coming this week to Faith Sisters.
