It was the first ice skating outing of the school year for the Lower Elementary classes. Imagine 85 kids, 170 boots to lace, a dozen adults and one ice rink and you get the picture.

Ellie asked me to come along and when I finally finished lacing the last boots and got onto the ice myself I found my girl in the center really wishing she could do figure 8’s and spins.

Much of this group needed a little help from the boards to get around.

It was great fun. More skating to come this month on Fridays. I hope I can join the kids a few more times. It was entertaining to see their efforts and enthusiasm trying something new.
