For the second time this year we find ourselves recovering from a major flood event of the Minnesota River. The unprecedented fall flood  that closed the 4 major river crossings near us is going down at the 5th highest flood event on record surpassing the recent March/April flooding. It is also the highest fall flood on record. The closing of 4 bridges caused a major problem for my husband since he works on the other side of the river. The river crossings started closing a week ago Sunday. The good news is that our main crossing in Chaska is already open as of yesterday afternoon. So the effects of this flood event are shorter-lived than in the spring at least locally. The southern part of our state was hit pretty hard.

For a quick comparison, here is the Chaska bridge crossing at the end of March:

Anna had to recreate her “pose”.
