Ellie’s layout, “Puppy Love”, was selected as this week’s random winner. She is so excited to shop for her own supplies with her winnings.

“Spraground Challenge

Our gal Liv hosted our challenge this week, and based her challenge on a super cool Converse ad … love that my girl has such a love for Chuck Taylors!! Her challenge was two-fold: use a red, white, and blue color scheme AND create a layout celebrating independence! There were lots of fabulous entries, but I was really excited when random.org pulled our winner this week. Now, the username was latz, but the REAL winner was her daughter Ellie!!

Darling 6 year old Ellie had been bit by the scrapbooking bug this week and, with the help of her super talented mom, is starting to create her own pages and sharing them in our gallery!! I love that she has the confidence to share her work here, and hope she enjoys spending her $5 Spraguebucks on some goodies just for herself!!”

And the rain, rain, rain came down, down, down…pretty much all day long. Ellie and I spent part of the morning blowing bubbles in the garage and in the rain. After awhile Ellie put away the bubbles and just played in the rain. She was soaked through by the time she was done, but it was fun.

Bubbles and rain.

It was kind of a lazy day. After much running around the previous day, Ellie announced that we’d relax today. And she did. First she slept in until 9:30 (very late for her), then she stayed in her jammies until noon. I spent part of the afternoon loading digi supplies onto my new 2TB external hard drive. (I had filled up the old 500GB one about 2 weeks ago).

I caved into temptation and made this…

July 14:

Homemade ice cream.

No ice cream maker required for this recipe, just heavy whipping cream, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips and peanut butter cups. It was delicious–very rich and creamy–just like good ice cream should be. Check it out HERE.

It was one of the most perfect days of summer. It was sunny and it was not too hot. After dropping Ellie off at church for “Wacky Wednesday”, Anna and I took a walk, did a little shopping (Anna found a cute pair of jeans) and enjoyed lunch together.

July 13:

Enjoying a walk.
